Lessons

Availability: Included in the Stable Plus plan and above (599 SEK/mo).

The lessons module is built for riding schools and stables that offer instruction. You can schedule private lessons, group sessions, and clinics — and let riders book directly in the app or via the client portal.

Activating the Lessons Module

  1. Go to Settings → Modules → Lessons
  2. Click Activate (included in the Stable Plus plan at no extra cost)
  3. Configure defaults: standard lesson length, currency, and cancellation rules

Lesson Types

Create lesson types that match what you offer:

  • Private — 1 rider per session
  • Group — 2–8 riders (you set the max)
  • Clinic — 9 or more riders, e.g., a full-day event

Each type has a default price, default duration, and whether it should be bookable online.

Scheduling a Lesson

  1. Go to Lessons → New Lesson
  2. Choose the type, trainer, and facility
  3. Set the date, start time, and duration
  4. Enter the maximum number of participants and price
  5. Click Publish — the lesson is now visible for riders to book

How Riders Book

Riders see available lessons under Lessons in the app and in the client portal:

  1. Select a lesson
  2. Click Book
  3. Choose a payment method (pay now or pay later, depending on your settings)
  4. Confirm

If the lesson is fully booked, the rider can join the waitlist and will be notified automatically if a spot opens up.

Managing Bookings

Under Lessons → Bookings, you can see all incoming bookings:

  • Approve — for lessons that require prior approval
  • Decline — with a free-text reason sent to the rider
  • Move to Waitlist — if the lesson is full

You can also add riders manually (e.g., if they called in).

Cancellations

The default setting allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before the lesson with a full refund. You can adjust:

  • The cancellation deadline (e.g., 48 hours)
  • The refund policy (100%, 50%, or no refund for late cancellations)

Settings apply per lesson type, so private lessons can have stricter rules than group lessons.

Trainer Attribution and Commissions

  1. Go to Settings → Trainers
  2. Add your trainers and set a commission percentage per lesson type
  3. Each lesson is assigned to a trainer when created

Under Reports → Trainer Commissions, generate monthly reports showing:

  • Number of lessons per trainer
  • Total revenue
  • Commission amount

Reports can be exported as CSV for payroll processing.

Lesson Packages

Create and sell packages (e.g., 5 or 10 lessons) at a discount:

  1. Go to Lessons → Packages → New Package
  2. Enter the number of lessons, price, and validity period
  3. Enable Sell in Client Portal for online sales

The rider selects the package when booking and the balance is automatically deducted for each lesson.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can riders book via the app?

Yes. All lessons that are published and bookable online appear in the EquiDuty app under Lessons.

How does the waitlist work for group lessons?

The waitlist is automatic. When a rider cancels, a notification is sent to the first person on the waitlist, who has 24 hours to confirm the spot. If they don’t respond, it moves to the next person.

Can trainers see their own commission report?

Yes, if you enable it. Under Settings → Trainers, you can give each trainer access to their own commission view.
